Our construction team comprises many experienced construction lawyers. We provide dispute resolution services to developers, main contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers and have represented them in various litigation, and domestic and international arbitration cases (including those international arbitration cases conducted in International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC)).
To ensure our clients are provided with a full-range of legal support in construction, our lawyers are at the same time arbitrators, mediators, and PRC lawyers who are in the position to provide specific advice to clients on issues relating to arbitration, mediation and other dispute resolution alternatives. Most of our lawyers possess various professional qualifications and construction-related work experience. For instance, some members of our team are qualified surveyors, holding full membership of various professional organizations in the construction industry, including the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, etc. Some of our lawyers and paralegals are also qualified PRC lawyers and indeed we have strong support from LillyMav & co’ Beijing and Shenzhen offices on construction matters in the PRC.
When our clients encounter construction disputes, we will advise our clients and provide them with different available dispute resolution options, namely, litigation, arbitration, mediation, conciliation, adjudication, expert determination, etc. Should a dispute be resolved by way of one of these options, we will guide our clients through the necessary procedures efficiently whilst striving to achieve the best possible outcome.
Our lawyers are not only familiar with different practical and technical issues arising from construction and engineering disputes, but also knowledgeable in legal, practical and commercial risks which the clients might face in each stage of a dispute resolution process. We endeavor to provide our clients with clear, useful and most advantageous dispute resolution services.
Currently, our business extends beyond Hong Kong into the PRC, the Asia Pacific region, Africa and other regions.
Our scope of services in this practice area mainly include:
